Sergeant First Class Katayoon Hodjati
A native of Silver Spring, Maryland, Sergeant First Class Katayoon Hodjati joined The U.S. Army Field Band in 2004. Prior to her appointment, she performed with the Musica Nova, Mesa, and Phoenix Symphonies. SFC Hodjati received both a Doctor of Musical Arts degree and a Master of Music degree from Arizona State University. She also holds a Bachelor of Music degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Oberlin College and Conservatory, as well as a Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Integrative Health from the Maryland University of Integrative Health. SFC Hodjati is the flutist in the Army Field Band Woodwind Quintet and serves as Flute Section Leader. When not performing, she is pursuing her other passions of teaching, cooking, yoga, and Middle Eastern dance.

Staff Sergeant Pamela Daniels
Staff Sergeant Pamela Daniels is a native of Reston, Virginia. She completed her Master of Music degree at the New England Conservatory of Music and her Bachelor of Music degree at The Eastman School of Music. SSG Daniels was also awarded the Performer’s Certificate from The Eastman School of Music in 2008. Before joining The U.S. Army Field Band, SSG Daniels held the position of Principal Flute with the Cape Cod Symphony, and has held fellowships at the Tanglewood Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, and National Orchestral Institute. Her primary flute instructors have included Elizabeth Rowe, Bonita Boyd, Paula Robison, and Judith Lapple.

Staff Sergeant Jennifer Zhou
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Staff Sergeant Jennifer Zhou began her flute studies at age six. Prior to joining The U.S. Army Field Band, she performed with various ensembles including the New York Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, New World Symphony, and “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band. SSG Zhou received her Master of Music degree from Rice University and her Bachelor of Music degree with a Performer’s Certificate from The Eastman School of Music. She has participated in music festivals such as Spoleto USA, National Repertory Orchestra, Music Academy of the West, Schleswig-Holstein, Zermatt, Youth Orchestra of the Americas, and the Aspen Music Festival. Her teachers include Bonita Boyd, Leone Buyse, Beth Owen, and Martha Aarons.
