Sergeant First Class Erika Grimm
Sergeant First Class Erika Grimm began playing the oboe at age nine and pursued music through high school and college at festivals such as the Interlochen Center for the Arts and Brevard Music Center. She received her Master of Music degree from Indiana University and Bachelor of Music degree from Florida State University, where she studied with Eric Ohlsson. SFC Grimm also pursued a Performer Diploma at Indiana University before joining The U.S. Army Field Band. Her primary teachers were Linda Strommen and Roger Roe. SFC Grimm teaches oboe privately and is active as a performer in Washington, DC and Baltimore. She is currently a member of the Army Field Band Woodwind Quintet and plays with the Baltimore Blasserquintet. SFC Grimm is the Oboe/English Horn section leader.
Staff Sergeant Amy Houck
Staff Sergeant Amy Houck is a native of Katy, Texas. She joined The United States Army Field Band in 2018. Before joining, she performed as a substitute with the Chicago, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Toledo, and Harrisburg Symphonies, and with the Michigan Opera Theatre Orchestra. SSG Houck holds a Master of Music degree from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, both in oboe performance. Her principal teachers include Eugene Izotov and Richard Killmer. SSG Houck has attended music festivals such as Music Academy of the West and the Banff Centre Festival Orchestra. She is currently the oboist with the Woodwind Ambassadors.
Staff Sergeant Sarah Schram-Borg
Originally from Milton, Massachusetts, Staff Sergeant Sarah Schram-Borg holds a Master of Music degree from Yale University and a Bachelor of Music degree from The Eastman School of Music. Her principal teachers were Richard Killmer and Alex Klein. Prior to joining The U.S. Army Field Band, SSG Schram-Borg performed with many ensembles, including the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, American Modern Ensemble, New Jersey and New Haven Symphonies, and on the Broadway shows Wicked and Les Misérables. She is currently the oboist with the Woodwind Ambassadors.
