Master Sergeant Erica Russo
Master Sergeant Erica Russo earned a Master of Arts degree in Musicology at The Ohio State University and Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Music and Russian at Florida State University. Low Voice Group Leader for the Soldiers’ Chorus.
Master Sergeant Teresa Harris
Master Sergeant Teresa Harris is originally from Salt Lake City and has been with the Soldiers’ Chorus since 2004. Before pursuing graduate studies at Temple University, she completed a Bachelor of Music degree at Westminster Choir College. She also spent four summer seasons with the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy. MSG Harris’s military career began in the Air Force in 2002 with the US Air Force Band of Liberty, Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts. MSG Harris’s notable opera roles include The Mother in Amahl & the Night Visitors, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, and Rebecca Nurse in The Crucible.
Sergeant First Class Elizabeth Garcia
Sergeant First Class Elizabeth Garcia has lived all over the country but calls Portland, Maine, home. She graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1995 with a Master of Music degree and from the Oberlin Conservatory in 1990 with a Bachelor of Music degree. Before coming to The U.S. Army Field Band, she performed in operas, musical theater productions, and, most memorably, her own one-woman show in New York City. She spends her free time playing tennis, cooking, and deepening her devotion to her favorite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox.
Staff Sergeant Heidi Ackerman
Staff Sergeant Heidi Ackerman received a Master of Music degree from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. She debuted with the Phoenix Symphony in 2011 singing Mendelssohn’s “Elijah” and enjoyed three seasons as a professional chorister with Arizona Opera. Before joining The U.S. Army Field Band, SSG Ackerman sang with the Cantos de Taos at the Taos Opera Institute, conducted church and community choirs, taught junior high music, and sang professionally throughout the greater Phoenix area.
Staff Sergeant Megan Pomales
Staff Sergeant Megan Pomales hails from Oak Ridge, NJ. She joined The U.S. Army Field Band in 2017.
