Educational Activities Overview

SSG Carmen Russo and students

For many years, The United States Army Field Band has been active in the educational community. From performances and clinics to instructional videos and reference recordings, the four performing components of the Army Field Band continue to expand their focus to assist music educators and play a part in the future of America's youth.

Join us with Google Hangouts

Google Hangouts: The United States Army Field Band is now using Google+ Hangouts (video conference call) to conduct educational clinics across the country. Much like an in-person class, Hangouts are interactive and allow our Soldier-Musicians to listen, perform, and provide constructive feedback to your students.

Perspectives: The Jazz Ambassadors of The United States Army Field Band proudly presents Perspectives. These recordings are free for big band jazz educators and their students, ranging in difficulty from middle school to professional level. Each recording is paired with printable parts, and written solos are included for ensembles with inexperienced improvisers.

Request a Clinician

Pro Tips: Pro Tips is a series of educational videos by members of The U.S. Army Field Band, answering students' and educators' frequently asked questions. Dealing with such topics as breathing, instrument maintenance, practice techniques, embouchure, and much more, new Pro Tips videos are released bi-weekly.

Request a Clinician

Request a Clinician: Request a member of The U.S. Army Field Band as a clinician or guest conductor. This form makes it easy for educators to request clinicians, clinic teams, master classes, and guest conductors.
