Instructional Video Series

The United States Army Field Band has produced a series of instructional videos for distribution to music educators nationwide. These videos cover a wide range of topics, including a brief history of each instrument and methods for improving tone, technique, intonation, and ensemble. Production plans include two additional videos annually, with the following completed projects currently available:

Reference Recordings

The United States Army Field Band has produced a series of educational reference recordings on compact disc. These recordings were painstakingly researched to authenticate standard performance practices and reflect the original intent of the composers. The enclosed booklets include historical background on the composers, detailed program notes on each selection, and vintage photographs. Online Educational Resources

The United States Army Field Band has produced a series of online resources to accompany several of our reference recordings and educational videos. These resources combine the latest pedagogical findings with the painstaking research of our recordings and videos. In addition, all lesson plans in this series incorporate the National Standards for Arts Education to better enhance curricula at all age levels. Our online resources are available in a variety of formats (e.g. HTML, PDF, MP4 audio files, etc.) to meet the diverse needs of educators.
