The Volunteers
THE UNITED STATES ARMY FIELD BAND
is the Department of the Army's official touring musical organization. In its over 60-year history, the Field Band has performed public concerts in all 50 states and 25 foreign countries for audiences totaling more than 103 million people. The Volunteers, one of four Field Band performing components, is the Army's premier touring show band. Since its inception in 1981, this six-piece group has performed in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Performances by the Volunteers have included Mardi Gras in New Orleans, the Indianapolis 500, Nashville Now, the Calgary Stampede, and numerous state fairs and festivals across the country. Members of the Volunteers have also performed at sporting events of the San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers, Florida Marlins, Baltimore Orioles, New York Giants, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional performance level
Proficient in various musical styles: Pop/Rock, Country, R&B/Funk, small group jazz, and Patriotic
Strong sight-reading skills
Ability to meet Army height/weight standards
Must be 17-41 years of age

SALARY:
$45,741–$51,430 (Army rank of Staff Sergeant)
 
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform with the Volunteers of The United States Army Field Band
Tour approximately 100 days per year in the U.S. and abroad
Work with Educational Outreach Program in schools across the nation
There are opportunities to perform original material
Position requires a minimum 3-year enlistment--the candidate will be informed of acceptance prior to enlistment
 
BENEFITS:
College loan repayment program--up to $65,000
30 days paid vacation annually

Enlistment bonuses of up to $30,000
