A Celebration of Independence
Independence

Nearly 240 years have passed since the Second Continental Congress drafted and signed the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. That momentous occasion at the time signified a clear separation of the early American States from the kingdom of Great Britain. Ever after, Independence Day has represented our nation's unity, solidarity, and willingness to sacrifice for our freedoms. The United States Army Field Band celebrates our national independence and heritage of freedom this summer with special events throughout the Midwest.

Kicking off the 2016 Summer Tour, the Concert Band & Soldiers' Chorus will join with the Detroit Symphony at the 24th Annual Salute to America. Evening performances will feature a variety of musical works for all ages and will include fireworks each night! July 4th brings the Concert Band & Soldiers' Chorus to the city of Toledo, Ohio, for the 8th Annual Red, White, KABOOM! concert and fireworks. America’s Big Band, the Jazz Ambassadors will appear with the Cleveland Pops on July 1st for an evening of entertainment and will celebrate the 4th of July with the community of Lima, Ohio. Come celebrate your Independence Day with the Musical Ambassadors of the Army!

Army Birthday Across the Nation
Birthday

The U.S. Army Field Band's chamber ensembles celebrated Flag Day, the birthday of the United States Army, with America's newest citizens at naturalization ceremonies throughout the country. The Army Field Band Chamber Brass performed one such ceremony at Philadelphia's Stripes and Stars Festival on June 14th. In the Betsy Ross House, 13 people from 13 different countries — representing the 13 original American colonies—took the Oath of Allegiance to the United States. The Army Field Band is proud to have been a part of this event, and welcomes these new citizens into this great nation!
