LTC Domingos Robinson currently serves as the Commander of The United States Army Field Band. Prior to this assignment, LTC Robinson served as Deputy Commander of The United States Army Field Band; Commander of the Eighth United States Army Band stationed in South Korea; Deputy Commandant, Director of Training, and Commander of The U.S. Army School of Music; Army Music Liaison Officer for U.S. Army Central Command in Kuwait; Commander of the Army Ground Forces Band in Atlanta, Georgia; The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” in Washington, DC, and The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Band in Hampton Roads, Virginia.
LTC Robinson’s ensembles have performed for significant events throughout the United States and Asia, serving as a key communications tool for the Senior Mission Commander while providing music in support of our Allied Partners. During his four years in Washington, LTC Robinson’s ensembles participated in such events as the 44th Presidential Inauguration, the dedication of the National World War II Memorial, the State Funerals of President Ronald Reagan and President Gerald Ford, the nationally televised “Christmas in Washington,” the Kennedy Center Honors, and “A Capitol Fourth,” as well as performances with the National Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and Akron Symphony Orchestra.
LTC Robinson holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Hartwick College and a Master of Music in Conducting from the New England Conservatory of Music, where he was a student of Frank Battisti. LTC Robinson is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles, and the Adjutant General Corps Regimental Association.
CSM Daniel (Dan) Brimhall has served as Support Group Leader for The U.S. Army Field Band since 2021. He previously served as Information Management Officer, interim administrator for Army Bands Online, Section Leader, small group Team Leader, and as an Army musician in the Concert Band of The U.S. Army Field Band.
CSM Brimhall managed the unit’s accession of 34 Soldiers and supervised human resources during implementation of the Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army. He supported the unit’s IT portfolio and the Army Bands knowledge management platform during major migrations to cloud environments. As a member of the Concert Band, CSM Brimhall has connected with Americans at hundreds of public engagements in 49 states.
Growing up in rural Montana, CSM Brimhall began musical training at an early age in Sunburst, Montana, and Lethbridge, Alberta. CSM Brimhall earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the Hartt School of The University of Hartford and a Master of Music degree from Yale University prior to joining the Army in 2004.
LTC Richard Winkels currently serves as the Deputy Commander of The United States Army Field Band. Prior to this assignment, LTC Winkels served at the Pentagon for Headquarters, Department of the Army for Army Bands policy and proponency oversight between the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs and Chief, Army Bands. A native of Red Wing, Minnesota, and a third-generation Soldier, LTC Winkels has previously served as the Commander of the 82d Airborne Division Band & Chorus, Fort Liberty, North Carolina; Deputy Commander of the United States Military Academy Band at West Point, New York; senior U.S. Military music advisor for U.S. Army Central for Southwest Asia, stationed at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait; Commander of the 1st Armored Division Band, Fort Bliss, Texas; Associate Bandmaster and Officer in Charge of The U.S. Army Concert Band “Pershing’s Own”, Washington DC; Executive Officer of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Band, Fort Eustis.
In 2016, LTC Winkels deployed to the Middle East to support Operation Inherent Resolve to serve as the Army Music Liaison Officer for U.S. Army Central (USARCENT) where he coordinated music throughout the region for troop entertainment and U.S. Embassies. As Commander of the 1st Armored Division Band, LTC Winkels was responsible for executing over 3,000 military and civilian events. LTC Winkels was able to broaden the 1st Armored Division Band’s scope to strengthen and promote our national interests at home and abroad.
While assigned as the Officer in Charge of The U.S. Army Concert Band in Washington DC, LTC Winkels arranged and produced performances on the national and international level for military and civilian leaders. In October of 2012, LTC Winkels led The U.S. Army Concert Band in its historic Military to Military exchange with The Military Band of the People’s Liberation Army of China in efforts to build, sustain, and further friendship and cooperation for the future.
LTC Winkels holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. He began his career in military music in 2002 before his selection as one of 25 commissioned band officers in the United States Army Band Program in September of 2007.
A native of Live Oak, Florida, CPT Curran Schenck became the Associate Bandmaster of The United States Army Field Band in September of 2022. He is the Director and Officer-in-Charge of the Soldiers’ Chorus and Six String Soldiers. Prior to this assignment, CPT Schenck served as the Executive Officer of The United States Army Europe and Africa Band and Chorus stationed in Sembach, Germany. He began his military service in 2010 as an enlisted trumpet player and served with the 25th Infantry Division Band, Schofield Barracks, HI; 10th Mountain Division Band, Fort Drum, NY; Army Ground Forces Band, Fort Bragg, NC; 392nd Army Band, Fort Lee, VA. Prior to joining the Army, CPT Schenck was a band director at Ridge Community High School in central Florida. CPT Schenck holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Florida State University. CPT Schenck attended Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia, receiving his commission as a Distinguished Military Graduate in 2019. He is a graduate of the Captains Career Course, Army Music Basic Officer Leadership Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Basic Leaders Course, and the Equal Opportunity Leaders Course. His military awards include the Army Commendation Medal (fifth award), Army Achievement Medal (fifth award), Army Good Conduct Medal (second award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (second award), Army Service Ribbon, and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge.
