Biography

Master Sergeant Matthew Gunderson calls both Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, home. Master Sgt. Gunderson holds a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education with a Performance Certificate from the University of South Carolina. He also pursued graduate studies in music history at University of South Carolina and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Capital Seminary and Graduate School with a concentration in Christian Care. Prior to joining The U.S. Army Field Band, Master Sgt. Gunderson was stationed at Ft. Monroe, Virginia, serving as a clarinetist and administrative specialist with the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command Band. Master Sgt. Gunderson has worked in the music libraries at both the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of South Carolina. Master Sgt. Gunderson enjoys spending time with his family, with as much love and laughter as possible.
