As the daughter of a Department of Defense engineer, Sergeant Major Laura Lesche spent her childhood in several different places, including Germany and Okinawa, Japan. Sgt. Maj. Lesche received a Master of Science degree in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Music degree from Wheaton College Conservatory of Music. Since joining The U.S. Army Field Band in 1998, Sgt. Maj. Lesche has entertained audiences in a wide variety of musical styles, performing with the Concert Band, Jazz Ambassadors, Volunteers, and Soldiers’ Chorus. Sgt. Maj. Lesche was a soloist with the London Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, and National Symphony Orchestra under the batons of Marvin Hamlisch, Erich Kunzel, and Emil de Cou.
