A Colorado native, SFC J.G. Miller holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Southern California along with degrees from University of Arizona and The Eastman School of Music, where he received the Performer’s Certificate. Prior to service, SFC Miller performed with The Who, Mariachi Sol de México, and Los Angeles studio orchestras on motion picture soundtracks. He is the founder of HornVets, an international advocacy group committed to the recognition of horn playing service members; he was also elected to serve as the first ever Military Liaison to the International Horn Society. A figure at the Kendall Betts Horn Camp, he has taught at high school and collegiate levels. He trained as a machinist and welder apprenticing for Lawson Horns. Currently serving as Vice President of Veritas Musica Publishing, he keeps his life grounded thanks to his wife and three children. His teachers include Peter Kurau, James Thatcher, Daniel Katzen, and Kendall Betts.
