Traditional Jazz Band

The United States Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors Traditional Jazz Band is a specialized small group dedicated to preserving and performing early New Orleans-style traditional jazz. Blending African American ragtime, blues, and European musical traditions such as marches, the group’s energetic sound is punctuated by unwavering rhythmic intensity and collective improvisation. The group’s small size and portable nature allow performances in venues as varied as a large concert hall to a Veteran’s Administration facility.
