RECORDED PRELIMINARY ROUND
Submission Deadline: October 31, 2025
1. Create videos containing 1 selection per video that include ALL of the following:
* 2-3 selections of contrasting styles – classical, musical theater, jazz or commercial
* The Star-Spangled Banner, a cappella (any key)
2. Upload videos to YouTube and put links to each video in the body of an email.
3. Attach to the email a recent resumé in PDF format with current mailing address, phone, email address and two references.
4. Send the email with video links and resumé to: usarmyfieldbandauditions@army.mil.
Select applicants will be invited to Fort Meade, MD, for an in-person audition and interview on January 14, 2026. Final audition requirements will be provided with invitation. Travel expenses will be paid upon meeting the U.S. Army’s aptitude, physical, and behavioral standards. Military personnel must be eligible for a PCS, submit an Intent to Release memorandum from the unit Commander, and submit a Soldier Talent Profile (STP) or equivalent. - Perform in the Soldiers’ Chorus of the United States Army Field Band
- Tour approximately 100 days per year in the U.S. and abroad
- Perform in various small chamber ensembles
- Contribute to innovative performances for broadcast audiences, live events, and educational outreach
- Learn and refine new skills as desired in multimedia production, marketing, music education, and others
- Professional performance level
- Proficiency in various musical styles
- Strong sight-reading skills
- Bachelor of Music degree or higher preferred
- Ability to meet Army height/weight standards
- Civilian applicants must be 17-34 years of age or up to 42 with a waiver
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
