HOW TO APPLY:
RECORDED PRELIMINARY ROUND
Submission Deadline: May 19, 2025
1. Create videos containing 1 selection per video that include ALL of the following:
* 2-3 selections of contrasting styles – classical, musical theater, jazz or commercial
* The Star-Spangled Banner, a cappella (any key)
2. Upload videos to YouTube and put links to each video in the body of an email.
3. Attach to the email a recent resumé in PDF format with current mailing address, phone, email address and two references.
4. Send the email with video links and resumé to: usarmyfieldbandauditions@army.mil.
Select applicants will be invited to Fort Meade, MD, for an in-person audition and interview on August 4, 2025. Travel expenses will be paid upon meeting the U.S. Army’s aptitude, physical, and behavioral standards. Military personnel must be eligible for a PCS, submit an Intent to Release memorandum from the unit Commander, and submit a Soldier Talent Profile (STP) or equivalent. - Perform in the Soldiers’ Chorus of the United States Army Field Band
- Tour approximately 100 days per year in the U.S. and abroad
- Perform in various small chamber ensembles
- Contribute to innovative performances for broadcast audiences, live events, and educational outreach
- Learn and refine new skills as desired in multimedia production, marketing, music education, and others
- Professional performance level
- Proficiency in various musical styles
- Strong sight-reading skills
- Bachelor of Music degree or higher preferred
- Ability to meet Army height/weight standards
- Civilian applicants must be 17-34 years of age or up to 42 with a waiver
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
